JKKKBIM

JKKKBIM stands for Jawatankuasa Kumpulan Kerja Kecil Building Information Modelling, which is a working group that operates under the Jawatankuasa Teknikal Standard dan Pertukaran Data (JTSPD). The JTSPD is a committee that oversees the development and implementation of technical standards for the construction industry, with a focus on data exchange and interoperability between different software tools and systems.

The purpose of JKKKBIM is to coordinate the standards and integration of spatial GIS (Geographic Information System) and BIM data. BIM is a digital representation of a building or structure and all its components, while GIS is a system for capturing, storing, and analyzing spatial data. By integrating these two types of data, construction professionals can better manage and analyze information related to the physical environment of a building, such as its location, terrain, and surroundings.

The JKKKBIM working group is focused on aligning its efforts with the standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee 211 (ISO/TC211), which is responsible for developing standards for geospatial information and services. By aligning its work with ISO/TC211, JKKKBIM aims to ensure that its standards and guidelines are consistent with international best practices and can be adopted by other countries and regions around the world.

Overall, the work of JKKBIM is important for advancing the use of BIM and GIS in the construction industry, promoting interoperability between different software tools and systems, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of building projects.
